Cigré SC B2 Meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland 
July 3-7 2011

Landsnet is organizing a Cigré Study Committee B2 meeting in Iceland in 2011. The event includes technical meeting, half day colloquium, half day tutorials and various meetings of committees and working groups. The meeting will be held from the 3rd to 7th of July 2011.
Meeting objectives
The focus of the meeting is on the design and maintenance of overhead transmission lines with regards to external factors such as natural hazards, severe weather conditions and climate change. Innovative solutions, compact design and current trends in design are also addressed, design of landscape towers, and reliability issues in relation with the aging of OHTL. 

The meeting is also intended as a forum for the technical and the administrative meeting of SC B2 as well as for individual meetings of its working groups. 
About Study Committee B2
The Study Committee B2 covers design, construction and operation of overhead lines including the mechanical and electrical (in cooperation with SC C3 and SC C4) design of line components (conductors, ground wires, insulators, accessories, structures and their foundations), validation tests, the study of in service performance, the assessment of the state of line components and elements, the maintenance, the refurbishment as well as upgrading and uprating of overhead lines.
